For 18 weeks this summer, I’ve been a part of the Instagram Local News Fellowship serving as an IG Fellow at The Charlotte Observer. Through my work, I managed the Charlotte Observer Instagram and increased production and implemented a plan which resulted in audience and engagement growth.
Like me, another 21 college seniors and recent journalism grads virtually served as Instagram editors for local newsrooms around the country, as part of a program made possible by the Facebook Journalism Project and the Reynolds Journalism Institute. We came together to share some of our experiments and you can now read all about them on the Facebook Journalism Project website in “22 Innovative Ideas to Try on Instagram.”
